Know Before You Go: City of Boise Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration

The City of Boise is planning a family-friendly evening of fun at Expo Idaho for the 11th annual Fourth of July fireworks celebration.

Located at 5610 Glenwood Street, the gates at Expo Idaho will open at 6 p.m. The event is free, and the fireworks will be synced to music on 107.1 K-Hits. Families can watch the fireworks show from the 22-acre grass area at Expo Idaho.

Launch time for the fireworks display is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. The parking lots will also open at 6 p.m. with more than 4,500 parking spaces available for the public, including plenty of accessible parking. Attendees should check with nearby businesses before parking in lots outside of the Expo Idaho grounds or risk having their vehicle towed.

Beer, wine, and food will be available from vendors, and coolers will be allowed inside the Expo Idaho gates. However, outside alcohol is not allowed at Expo Idaho. All coolers and handbags will be searched upon entry and backpacks are not allowed at the event.

Here are a few other details of which to be mindful if attending:

  • No tailgating, canopies, fireworks, sparklers, grills, open flames, drones or jaywalking
  • Vehicles must be legally parked in designated parking spaces. Police officers and security will be patrolling the grounds/parking lots and issuing citations when warranted
  • Bring a flashlight to help you get safely back to your car after the fireworks show
  • Smoking is prohibited, except in designated areas

Reminder: There will be no fireworks show at Ann Morrison Park this year. Instead, the event was moved to Expo Idaho because of wet and soggy conditions in the park caused by recent flood conditions on the Boise River.
