The Students on Boards and Commissions program gives high-school students the opportunity to help make important decisions on services for the community by serving on one of the city’s many boards and commissions. Student board appointments will run from September 2017 through May 2018. All positions are voluntary and unpaid, and are open to any high-school applicants residing within Boise city limits.
“Civic engagement is an invaluable part of what it means to be a citizen of the country,” Mayor Bieter said. “This is a great opportunity for students to help shape their local government and gain uncommon experience that to forward into their lives.”
Boards and commissions with student placement opportunities the Boise Airport, Arts & History, Design Review, Development Impact Fee Advisory, Historic Preservation, Housing Authority, Library, Mayor’s Council on Children and Youth, Parks and Recreation, and Planning and Zoning.
