Mayor Bieter announces schedule for 2012 'Good Neighbor' program

Mayor David Bieter today announced the schedule for the 2012 Boise Celebrates Good Neighbor program, an initiative launched last year to highlight Boise’s vibrant neighborhoods and the residents who support them.

The program includes such long-standing events as National Night Out, plus a series of new community activities including block parties and neighborhood workshops designed to bring neighbors together, give them new tools and honor individuals who have made significant local contributions.

“Last year’s program was so successful that we hope to keep the Good Neighbor program going for many years to come,” Mayor David Bieter said. “I encourage all Boise residents to take part in one or more of the events and to nominate someone they know for a good neighbor award. Recipients will be honored at a special reception on September 27 at the Boise Depot.” Good Neighbor nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, September 18.
