Mayor's Council on Children and Youth

The Mayor’s Council on Children and Youth is a committee created in May 2006 by Boise Mayor David Bieter and the Boise City Council.

Goals:

  • Advise the mayor and city council of the needs, concerns and problems of children and youth.
  • Make recommendations for changes to the city’s policies.
  • Coordinate programs between city departments and with other entities that provide services to young people.

The council consists of representatives from up to 16 public and private organizations, including:

  • Boise School District
  • Boise State University
  • City of Boise
  • Family Advocate Program
  • Meridian School District
  • Micron Technology
  • Neighborhood Housing Services
  • Silver Sage Girl Scouts
  • Treasure Valley YMCA
  • United Way of Treasure Valley
  • University of Idaho
